Simon heads-up practice development at HURST, which means his role is about as diverse as it gets. With a strong focus on brand, marketing, people, or international growth, he’s also involved on strategic implementation and pretty much anything that takes the business forward.
I love my role because...
I get to spend every day working with really interesting, forward-thinking people… that includes clients, colleagues and partners. It keeps me on my toes. And it keeps me motivated to make sure that HURST is continually evolving and cementing our position as one of the UK’s leading independent firms.
My favourite thing about HURST is...
The people. There’s so much passion here, and a really tight-knit culture amongst the team. It makes it an enjoyable place to work, and despite the fact that we’re over a hundred people, we all still hold onto the values that have brought us here. Perhaps most important is the passion we all seem to share.

When I imagine HURST in 2031...
I’d hope we’ll have continued the path we’re already on. A really strong culture, and equally strong partnerships with clients. All contributing to healthy, organic growth - for our firm and the people we work with. I’ll admit there’s a bit of ego involved, so continuing to collect awards recognition would be nice too!
Favourite place for a client coffee...
We're 8 minutes from Manchester city center and its plethora of great coffee shops. However we have partnered with a great coffee supplier and you cant beat a coffee on our roof top terrace when the weather is good!
