HURST joins the Stockport Economic Alliance
We’re delighted to announce that HURST has officially joined the Stockport Economic Alliance, reinforcing our long-standing commitment to supporting the economic and social wellbeing of the borough we’re proud to call home.
The Alliance, a strategic partnership between Stockport Council and key local employers, plays a vital role in driving the area’s economic ambitions. Through collaborative working and shared insight, the Alliance helps shape policy, infrastructure and investment priorities that unlock opportunity and promote sustainable growth across the region.
As a leading independent accountancy and advisory firm headquartered in Stockport, our decision to join the Alliance is a natural evolution of our local involvement — and a reflection of our deep-rooted belief that successful businesses are those that give back and help shape the places they operate in.
“We’re incredibly proud of our Stockport heritage,” said Simon Brownbill, Partner at HURST. “We’ve grown alongside the borough for over 40 years, and we understand how much potential exists here — from the strength of the local business community to the talent of its people. Joining the Economic Alliance means we can play an even more active role in championing that potential.”
A shared vision for Stockport
Stockport is a town on the move. With significant regeneration underway — including the £1bn Town Centre West development and growing investment in infrastructure, digital, and green technologies — there’s real momentum building behind the borough’s future.
By joining the Stockport Economic Alliance, we’re bringing our voice, experience and insight to the table. We’ll be working alongside other leading organisations to ensure that Stockport continues to be a great place to do business, develop careers, and build community.
Our commitment in action
At HURST, we believe in the power of partnership — whether that’s with clients, colleagues, or our local economy. Becoming part of the Alliance complements a number of initiatives we’re already involved in, from skills development and mentoring, to supporting social enterprises and charitable causes through the HURST Foundation.
“This is about more than just economics — it’s about being part of something bigger,” added Simon. “We want to help build a Stockport that works for everyone — where success is inclusive, opportunity is accessible, and businesses of all shapes and sizes can thrive.”
We’re looking forward to contributing to the important work of the Alliance and helping Stockport achieve its ambitious vision.
