I love my role because...
I get to hear the story behind the business. How it started, what’s taken more work than anyone expected, and what the owner would love to do next. Those conversations are often where the most useful work begins. I enjoy getting to know people, understanding what matters to them and bringing in colleagues who can help.
My favourite thing about HURST is...
The people and how welcome they’ve made me feel. There’s a willingness to share ideas and help each other, which makes a real difference when you’re settling into a new team. It’s also what makes introducing someone to our specialists feel so natural: you know they’ll be interested in the person as well as the business.
Our clients choose HURST because...
We’re a partner-led and partner-delivered firm. Our partners stay involved, and clients can speak to them at any stage. That relationship carries through from the first conversation to the decisions and day-to-day questions that follow.
Big business decisions rarely sit neatly in one box. An acquisition, a succession plan or the next stage of growth can raise questions about funding, tax and financial reporting all at once. Our teams work together, with our partners actively involved, to help clients see how those pieces fit and decide what to do next.
My part starts with listening. You might have a clear plan, or simply a feeling that something needs to change. Either is a good starting point for a conversation.
When I imagine HURST in 2031...
I’d like to look around and see clients we first met over a coffee now achieving the things we talked about. That might be a growing business, a successful acquisition or an owner stepping back with confidence. Being someone they’ve stayed in touch with along the way would mean a lot.
Favourite place for a client coffee...
Somewhere independent like Federal on Deansgate. I like the idea of supporting a local business while getting to know another. Federal’s growth from a small Northern Quarter café is a lovely example of the ambition we have here in Manchester.
For me, a coffee is a chance to hear your story, understand what you’re working towards and explore where we might help. You don’t need a finished plan to start the conversation.
