What I do
I work with clients to maximise value from transactions; the majority of which are company sales. We work closely with clients in preparing a company for sale, finding the right buyer and negotiating the best possible deal.
Where I've been
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986 with Grant Thornton in Leeds and subsequently moved to join Ernst & Young Corporate Finance in 1987. I left Ernst & Young in 1998 for a brief spell with Grant Thornton Corporate Finance before establishing my own corporate finance firm (LBC Corporate Finance). In order to develop my skills I then worked in industry as an interim finance director for 5 years before joining HURST in 2007.
What I've learned
Doing the right thing yields long-term rewards - this includes giving clients honest advice even if its not an easy conversation!
