What I do
As a Business Services partner I work with 30 of the firm’s clients on a broad range of issues. I spend around 50% of my time talking to my clients about their key challenges.
This often takes the form of a strategic workshop which helps clients focus on their key objectives for their businesses, and identifying a clear path to achieving them. The rest of my time is spent as an audit partner and tax advisor, ensuring that my clients pay the minimum amount of tax they need to, whilst ensuring all of their statutory obligations are fully met.
Where I've been
I completed my ACA training at Deloitte in Manchester and moved to HURST in 2004 to work more closely with owner managed businesses. At HURST I have had great experience both within the business and through a number of secondments to clients when they have been in need of hands on professional support.
What I've learned
I have had the chance to work alongside some great businesses and great individuals in my career. I think the best advice I have had, is that having a strong set of personal values is key to helping make decisions in difficult circumstances.
Why we're unlike any other accountant
