View our latest Corporate Finance 'deal of the week' involving a merger between two major players in the antimicrobial industry who offer comprehensive antimicrobial functions.
Introducing our third in the series of 'deal of the week', HURST Corporate Finance Manager Ryan Niblock, highlights the key points from Polygiene’s £33m acquisition of Addmaster, and how the merger will create a market leading antibacterial solution for hard and soft surfaces.
The acquisition brings together Addmaster’s expertise in antimicrobial technologies with Polygiene’s long-standing reputation in odour control and antiviral solutions for textiles.
Creating a powerhouse
Addmaster (UK Ltd) was founded in 2000 in Stafford. They have developed innovative technologies for polymers, including long-term product protection against harmful bacteria. Products can be found in thousands of applications worldwide, at work, in the home, at leisure and in industry.
Polygiene, based in Malmo Sweden, is a leading supplier of antimicrobial additives for soft surfaces.
They have a number of blue-chip customers including Adidas, Diesel and Mammut.

- Addmaster’s turnover has grown by over 60% throughout 2020 and working with Polygiene will give them access to a number of global blue-chip clients.
- Polygiene will now be able to offer the market a comprehensive anti-microbial solution across both soft and hard surfaces.
