What I do
I provide tax advice to a variety of clients but primarily family and owner managed businesses. Most of the work I am involved in relates to international and transactional tax advice, including reorganisations, acquisitions, and disposals. I also get involved in corporate tax compliance work and assist with R&D claims to help clients benefit from available tax incentives.
Where I've been
I studied Finance at the University of Leeds before joining the graduate scheme at Grant Thornton in London. After qualifying, I joined the in-house corporate tax team at Citibank in Canary Wharf. I then took a career break travelling around the world for a year before joining HURST at the start of 2019.
What I've learned
Fail to plan and plan to fail - especially when it comes to tax planning!
Why we're unlike any other accountant
We work with people we like - both clients and colleagues so we thoroughly enjoy what we do.
