SUCCESS FOR HURST’S “SWITCH ACCOUNTANTS” CAMPAIGN
May 2007

North west accountants HURST say they have a record number of staff and clients after a successful campaign to encourage businesses to switch accountants.
More than 70 people are now working at HURST’s Stockport headquarters to further boost its audit, tax, corporate finance and consulting teams.

“We are seeing many small to medium sized enterprises in this region and beyond who are dissatisfied with the performance of their own accountants and are looking for a firm with a much more proactive advisory approach,” said HURST director of marketing, Simon Brownbill.

“In recent months we have taken on several new clients who were not happy with the service they received from much larger national accountancy practices in terms of performance and value for money.

“In other cases, successful companies have outgrown their incumbent accountants who only look at business performance from a historical viewpoint. They need accountants who act as business advisors and steer them on to further growth and success. Changing accountants is a big step for any company, but we are seeing more and more making the move.”

Recent client gains for HURST include Baa Bar, Gabbets Farm, S Cooper & Son, J2 Retail Systems, and Aria Technology.

HURST has been highly succesful at recruiting, with new joiners being attracted to the firms' development programme and growing market presence. The recruitment programme will see seven new joiners enter the business over the summer to service new and existing clients.
HURST is also developing land adjacent to its office as further growth is anticipated.
