Crossroads commissions HURST to boost business development

June 2008

A Liverpool-based organisation that provides much-needed support to family carers has commissioned north west based accountants and business advisors HURST to boost business development.

Liverpool Crossroads Caring for Carers provides practical help and support to relieve the physical and emotional stresses that affect carers who care for people affected by disability, age or illness.

HURST’s role is to assist recently appointed Chief Executive Penny Fell to drive the business forward and make it more efficient. This will be achieved by carrying out a comprehensive review of all its financial systems. HURST will then help senior management to access the financial and business information they need to manage the development and growth of the business.

Said Penny Fell: “I’m confident HURST will help the Liverpool Crossroads board build on the strengths of the organisation. We need to use our financial and management systems more effectively, become more efficient, and reduce management costs.”

HURST is also fulfilling interim roles of providing payroll services and helping the organisation recruit a new financial manager.

HURST partner Helen Besant-Roberts commented: “Increasingly, not-for-profit organisations are benefiting from professional help in order to increase business efficiency and open up new income streams.”
