EXPANSION AND AWARDS AT HURST CORPORATE TRANSACTIONS

September, 2006

Manchester-based HURST Corporate Transactions is experiencing further growth - and is receiving awards - as the amount of corporate finance work undertaken is increasing.

Nigel Moss has been promoted to associate partner. Nigel joined HURST three years ago having held senior positions at a number of accountancy and corporate finance practices in Manchester.

The HURST Corporate Finance team has been further strengthened with the addition of Jordan Cooper as corporate finance executive. He has moved from HURST’s business services department. Jordan joined HURST in 2002 and combined work with studying at Salford University where he gained a degree in finance and accounting.

Meanwhile Nigel Moss, along with Corporate Transactions partner Steve Connelly, have gained the coveted corporate finance practitioner qualifications awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. They are amongst the first in the north west to gain the ICAEW awards.

Said Steve Connelly: “These qualifications are particularly important because they are only awarded to corporate finance practitioners who can demonstrate at least six years experience of working on corporate finance deals.

“It recognises our commitment to building a team of experienced specialists. Increasingly, clients will be looking for practitioners with this qualification, which will separate us from other accountants who offer corporate finance just as a bolt-on to their usual audit work. They want to work alongside accountants and advisors who specialise solely in corporate finance work.

“The expansion of our Corporate Transactions team reflects the large amount of deals we are working on at the moment.”
